Drew the original sketch at work more than a month ago, and it's been a sloooow process ever since. I'd tried coloring the lineart before, but it'd never looked right on another piece, so that's a success.

I got a blank notebook for work a while ago, and I wanted to do some pretty quote at the start, but everything sounded too cheesy and trite. Then I remebered History Said What and the lightbulb went on. And now my notebook is all pretty!

A little something to celebrate Day of the Dead, one of my favorite holidays, as it is colorful, a bit crazy, a bit morbid, and very pretty. I keep forgetting to set up a Death Shrine, oh well. This day always makes me think of my great-grandmother, and if there was one of the dead that I wanted to see again for the day, it'd be her.

I am wholeheartedly loving Doctor Who's 5th season, it's so fresh and lovely and exciting, especially after the horrible, horrible specials we got last year - which meant that I wasn't actually very sad to see Ten go. But moving onwards, Eleven and Amy are a fantastic team, and I couldn't wait to draw something little with them.

I've been experimenting lately with getting that wallpaper effect. It's a bit weird but I like it. Photoshop's acting weird and it's not letting me copy/paste, though, which is incredibly annoying.

I've missed doodling around. Should do it more often. I've been thinking of getting a tablet, to make inking easier (that, or I could invest in proper drawing ink. Mmm.) and more uniform. I quite want one, but at the same time I don't know if it'll be hard to get used to it. Ah well.

The following are a series of illustrations I did for a Product Development class in Uni, in which we had to create a product and sell it, coming up with a business and marketing strategy for it, aside from the graphic and product design. My team sold t-shirts, notebooks and postcards. This was definitely a challenging process, but I'm quite proud of the end result, and my work for it.

I've been on a quest to learn photoshop coloring as of lately, so I've been using mostly that. It takes forever, but I like how bright colors you can get (which is why I liked acrilics in the first place). Anyway, I liked the finished product, even if figuring out composition/background took ages.




And a variant, just because I can.

I made a very similar drawing for a friend's birthday card (obviously saying happy birthday at the top, lol) but didn't have time to snap a picture, so I decided to try and draw it again before I forgot how it was. This one looks even better, honestly.

The sketch I made for drawing class in pencil, and then due to a lack of scanner tok a picture and vectorized before adding effects in photoshop. Based on a photo I once took of a cousin of mine - it looks nothing like him, but I really liked the energy in the sketch, which was lost completely in the painting I actually submited for class.

One of the paintings for my Drawing class, the theme of my individual project was 'contrast'. I braved the cold and went out for walks to draw buildings that caught my fancy, and then added the colors depending on that day's color of the sky.

Another painting for class, basically I just wanted to do mixed media, and do something ornamental and over the top. The final touch was spreading white glue and then just throwing sugar at it and hoping it would stick. It did, and now the painting shines when the light hits it, and looks wonderfully texturized.

After ages of wanting one, I bought a moleskin sketchbook in Dublin last week, and while there are two sketches previous to this one, this is the first I truly liked. Drawn in a park with the sun shining down on me, and with pigeons walking around.
